(July 15, 2017) The 2017 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival put a pin in the whole ’13’ superstition with another resounding celebration of the culture. The only word for the 13th annual event finale was “hot.”
(April 20-22, 2017) Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture presented what could only be described as an outstanding tribute to Latin Music legend Ernesto Antonio “Tito” Puente. The 3-day event titled Tito Puente Retrospective: 50 Years of ‘El Rey’ worked the historic landscape of his journey, planted fresh seeds in the here and now, and celebrated another bounty of young musicians inspired by the priceless contributions of Puente’s genius and mastery.

(October 15, 2016) “La Princesa de la Salsa” delivered a stunning performance to a packed audience at the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts. Linda Viera Caballero, “La India” as she is known world-wide, gave her emotional return to The Bronx a celebratory tone of remembrance to the great influences in her singing career, now spanning three decades.
(October 8, 2016) The final concert for BomPlenazo 2016 brought to the Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture mainstage a celebrated collaboration led by the recognized elder of the New York City bomba and plena tradition, Juan “Juango” Gutiérrez. The BomPlenazo Artists Collective returned to the biennial themed “Entre Generaciones” to deliver a dynamic repertoire of traditional and original music compositions.
(September 17, 2016) “La Casa de la Salsa” Lehman Center for the Performing Arts is back with its 36th Season calendar. Headlining the center’s premier event was Eddie Palmieri & Friends and Del Caribe Latin Jazz All-Stars.
(September 16, 2016) The legacy of celebrated composer, musician and orchestra leader Ernesto Antonio “Tito” Puente echoed throughout Richard Rodgers Amphitheater in Marcus Garvey Park, as the main stage event for the 1st Annual El Barrio Latin Jazz Festival.
