Monthly Archives: August 2015
(August, 2015) Took a return-trip to the Southern Tier of New York where I lived for over twenty-years. In the city of Binghamton, I began writing a series of pieces, inspired by local events and the literary mentoring of Carole Boyce Davies, Isidore Okpewho and Ruth Stone.
(August, 2015) While visiting Brooklyn, I took the opportunity to check out the Coney Island Art Walls — an outdoor museum of street art. What they have going over there is a really interesting setup. There are some sweet pieces up on the nearly three dozen hand-ball court sized walls within the enclosed area offering artisanal food vendors. Later, I went for a stroll along the boardwalk and just lost myself inside the salty air.
